A 30-year-old New York beauty technician, botched in a 2022 tummy tuck procedure by an unnamed surgeon who she says “almost killed” her, has had pro bono revision and repair work at the hands of Philadelphia plastic surgeon Christian Subbio, M.D.
It’s a bright spot on a 200lb weight loss and skin removal surgery journey that has attracted the support and attention of nearly 70,000 followers and friends across social media.
Victoria Michaels (@nulleigh) was “botched, neglected and abused,” two years ago, after losing almost 200 pounds.
She says she awoke from that surgery and “looked horrendous,” and was then given the “worst treatment ever” by an unnamed surgeon.
Sharing her story and suffering on social media brought her plight to the attention of “a very famous, reputable and well known surgeon,” who said he would perform a revision and repair for her for free.
“He responded and said he’d revise my surgery for free,” Michaels wrote on Instagram, describing her interactions with the board-certified Philadelphia plastic surgeon who would later perform her pro bono revision and repair work.
“He told me that he would be happy to gift me the entire revision surgery pro bono. He said he wanted me to travel to his state for a consult to make sure i’m a good candidate and if I was—I would only be responsible for anesthesia, facility fees and an injection fee.
“He said he was scrolling on [TikTok] eating Cheetos one night and saw my story. Now here we are.”
