    Author's Description

“Profit killers” are costly expenditures that do one thing: kill your practice’s profits. In her 20 years of experience in the medical cosmetic industry, Kelly Smith has identified ten key areas that can immediately infuse massive profits into every elective medical practice.

If one of these scenarios sounds familiar…

    • Your sales aren’t growing, even though calls are coming in
    • Your website isn’t converting, even though you’re spending money on ads
    • Expenses are way too high and the spa is in “the red” month after month
    • You feel your team doesn’t like you, doesn’t respect you, and you have a high turnover rate
    • Open houses and virtual open houses aren’t selling a thing

…then this book was written for you.

Kelly has condensed med spa revenue essentials into ten easy 1-hour solutions for everything from social media marketing and sales events to payroll solutions and staff training. Whether you are starting a plastic surgery business, buying a med-spa franchise, or looking to increase profits at your laser clinic startup, you will find solutions to your immediate business management needs that you can apply today.

As a successful medical spa owner, Kelly uncovered the secrets that increase revenue and reduce costs. Through her book you’ll gain insights on:

    • How to get your team to crush monthly sales goals that increase practice revenue!
    • How to start a medspa.
    • Easy medspa marketing, even if you hate marketing!
    • How to set up your practice’s website to make sales for you!
    • How to know if you are spending too much money on marketing, payroll, or something else, and how to control those costs.
    • How to know if your marketing efforts are actually helping you grow.
    • How to convert phone calls, consultations, and other new leads into lifelong clients.
    • How to script consultations to sell more!
    • Trading out unsuccessful open houses for fun, engaging, and profitable sales events!
    • Effective social media campaigns and other online marketing strategies that work…without paying a fortune for costly ads.
    • Staff training & office culture—how to have the best team in your city, improve reviews, and gain customer referrals.
    • A full suite of downloadable resources and tool kits for your practice.

    From the Introduction:

After working with thousands of clinics, I created this book to let you see behind the scenes of elective medical practices to reveal the most common challenges. These are the top ten areas I have encountered that cause challenges for increasing revenue and profit.

Even practices with a great bottom line may find one or more areas to focus on. Whether they are earning $1M or $5M, the challenges practices face are consistent, and they may have a few top priorities to work on. You can use this book as a reference to solve challenges as priorities shift in your organization.

After running my own seven-figure medical spa in Eastern Washington, I was contracted by a laser and vein center in the northwest to be their CFO on a turnaround project for two general surgeons. The strategies in this book grew the revenue from $800,000 a year to over $4M a year in less than three years. As a result, the two general surgeons fulfilled their goal to become full-time cosmetic surgeons, which meant they could stop taking call rounds and insurance. On top of that, this growth enabled them to open a second location and to start two national training centers—all while reducing marketing expenses by 10%.
