35 Women Voted ‘America’s Best Plastic Surgeons’

Newsweek magazine has just released its second annual series of lists honoring “America’s best plastic surgeons,”

Votes from medical professionals and plastic surgery peers determined who appeared on the lists and in what ranking position.

The five lists this year reflect the most popular plastic surgery procedures of 2020: Rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, facelift surgery, liposuction, and breast augmentation.

Surgeons appearing in any position on the lists are among the top 5% of all plastic surgeons in the U.S., according to the survey methodology used.

Highest-Rated by Procedure:

Nose, Face, Lipo, Breast: Dr. Marissa Tenenbaum was America’s highest-rated female plastic surgeon in rhinoplasty, facelift surgery, liposuction, and breast augmentation in 2022.

Eyelid: Dr. Kamakshi R. Zeidler was America’s highest-rated female blepharoplasty surgeon in 2022.

Voted Best Across the Boards:

Dr. Marissa Tenenbaum, MD

Dr. Marissa Tenenbaum, MD, was voted one of the best plastic surgeons in America in all 5 of Newsweek magazine’s surveyed surgical subspecialties, in 4 of which she was the highest-rated female plastic surgeon. The St. Louis, MO, board-certified plastic surgeon was voted the nation’s 5th best breast augmentation surgeon, its 15th best rhinoplasty surgeon, its 17th best liposuction surgeon, its 25th best facelift surgeon, and its 38th best blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, surgeon. Dr. Tenenbaum won peer accolades in March for her work in a patient’s gender affirming plastic surgery, which was featured in a new series by The Aesthetic Society, of which she is a member, titled “Beyond the Before and After.”

Dr. Jennifer L. Walden, MD

Dr. Jennifer L. Walden, MD, was welcomed in April as the first female president of The Aesthetic Society. In the 2021 edition of Newsweek’s national survey, she was voted as among the best plastic surgeons in all surveyed surgical procedures that year [rhinoplasty, liposuction, breast augmentation, facelift], and was the only woman to have been so voted. This year, Dr. Walden was again voted as among the best plastic surgeons in America in four categories. She placed as the nation’s 26th best breast augmentation surgeon, its 30th best liposuction surgeon, its 35th best facelift surgeon, and within the top 100 best blepharoplasty surgeons in America.

Dr. Emily Clarke-Pearson, MD

Dr. Emily Clarke-Pearson, MD, of Charm City Plastic Surgery in Baltimore, MD, was for the second consecutive year voted as one of America’s best plastic surgeons in three surgical subspecialties. Dr. Clarke-Pearson, a board-certified plastic surgeon, was voted by colleagues the nation’s 19th best liposuction surgeon, its 38th best breast augmentation surgeon, and its 53rd best facelift surgeon.

Dr. Anne Taylor, MD

Dr. Anne Taylor, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon and member of The Aesthetic Society, was voted one of the best plastic surgeons in America in three separate surgical subspecialties. According to tabulated votes by peers, Dr. Taylor is the nation’s 44th best breast augmentation surgeon, its 46th best blepharoplasty surgeon, and its 71st best liposuction surgeon.

In total, 35 female plastic surgeons were voted America’s Best in 2022, according to lists compiled and published by Newsweek magazine.
